The upgraded Smart Hamper Co. website now offers a comprehensive and seamless shopping experience. Customers can schedule recurring orders, ship hampers to multiple addresses in one transaction, and plan deliveries for specific dates—all while enjoying a streamlined payment process via the wallet system. These enhancements have not only improved user satisfaction but also established the website as a versatile and customer-focused ecommerce platform.
The existing website for Smart Hamper Co. was powered by WooCommerce with basic shipping functionality, limiting customers to sending hampers to one address per order. This lack of flexibility posed a significant barrier for customers wishing to ship to multiple recipients or schedule deliveries for future dates. The challenge was to extend the platform’s capabilities by integrating features such as multiple-address shipping, subscription-based deliveries, scheduled deliveries, and a wallet system—all without disrupting the existing site’s functionality.
To meet these challenges, we implemented WooCommerce’s subscription plugin to enable recurring deliveries and tailored the backend to support flexible delivery intervals. To address the single-address shipping limitation, we integrated the YITH Multiple Shipping plugin, allowing customers to send hampers to multiple recipients within a single order. The payment process was enhanced with a wallet system, enabling users to store funds for future purchases and avoid re-entering credit card details. Additionally, we incorporated a delivery scheduling feature through the Order Delivery Date plugin, giving customers the ability to plan deliveries for specific dates. Finally, the checkout process was redesigned to combine all these features into a seamless, intuitive flow, ensuring a user-friendly and engaging shopping experience.
